Day 105:
Today was a great day. It was nice to have a break from chaos. We left early this morning for a church in the hills. We were invited to a new church there, and so we got ready and went off on our way. We took a Mattatu up the hill and when we arrived we met up with Amos (The pastor) We walked over to his house, and met up with a guy /amos' friend from the village who was also a singer. :) YAY We chatted a bit, then walked down to the church. Once we arrived we were greeted by a bunch of cute kids. I was invited in and spent some time there with the kid, and taught them. After I finished up, more people came in and we were greeted and seated ;) yeah I rhymed. It was nice, because the whole entire time they actually had translations for us unlike the church we usually go to! :D It was nice to understand them ! They are so humble there. They made a drum out of a broken bucket, and some other little shakers out of wood and flattened bottle caps. I would like to have instruments like that !:) They are trying to fundraise for instruments, but to be truthful they sound beautiful with natural voices!
My dad spoke, and the rest of the time was spent just singing :) ! After it all finished they had everyone in the congregation give 1$ to instruments, and even sold some mangos off. After that finished we ate some beans and chapatis, had some mango, and tea. Wonderful ladies had prepared it for us ! Very kind of them! They are all so smiley and loving , I love it! We had chatted for sometime, then decided we would go visit the OTHER orphanage up here in the hills. So we walked for a bit and soon arrived at the orphanage. WOW ! It was some nice! The floor was nice concrete and the walls painted. The kids ACTUALLY knew how to play with toys ! :o (It' pretty sad :( ) The kids were just yearning for a hug, some love. So cute. We talked with a lady there from Hungary and she told us about the orphanage. After we finished up there we had to catch a Mattatu back, and MAN that sure went fast, I thought I was going to die from the guy driving so badly.. We arrived back and have been settled every since. (I am rushing my blog right now though because we don't have any power and the computer will die in like 5 mins).. No water either, once again! Drought.. oh boys! There is even many forrest fires lately. Anywho, bedtime!
