African Adventures, Day 35

It was now Tuesday and we were all set to go to the beach with some lady that would be bringing us.. but turns out the plans changed!  We waited for a bit and some guy showed up at the door.. (Still not sure who he is) But he came with us around for the day.  We ate a bit then headed out! First stop would be some shops to actually get a bathing suit... !We got on a Mattatu and went into town. The day was already starting up SUPER hot and it was morning, perfect beach day! We went into the first store.. nothing fit. My body is too long for ANYTHING in there. And I'm not allowed wearing a two piece at the beach here. Next store, nothing.....3rd store... still nothing.. Last store, FINALLY FOUND SOMETHING. It had  gone on for a bit, and I was already sick of it and just wanted to go without a bathing suit at this point! We got on a Mattatu and headed to the beach! ( We were expecting this to be a private beach because that's what we were told we were going to).. turns out it was public, go figure! We got out and as we stepped out we had to run across the road through traffic. This was not any kind of ebach entrance you'd expect? :/ There were guys there, but there was even more garbage, EVERYWHERE, along with stands to buy bathing suits on the side of the road. (Dunno how you'd know it fit ;) ) We walked in and immediately  were surrounded by people trying to sell us things. We went to go change then headed out to walk far along the beach and see if we could ditch them.. Turns out we couldn't  and there was this whole bargain deal with two different people of who would bring us on a boat ride, we looked at the boats.. broken and old, we did not feel so safe and said no. We sat in the water for a bit, and could tell people were staring at us and talking about us.. :/ Meanwhile we look over and see a prostitute sitting with an old man... awkward. As soon as she leaves she was sitting on a blow up *cough*cough*..uh "Balloon" and we were ready to leave when all of a sudden she takes her bottoms of and then slips them back on, mom and I were ready to go.. Seemed like she was trying to get business...awko taco.  We walked down the beach, and went towards the camels we had seen earlier. I had been wanting to ride one... and was very anxious, and got to >:) . Ben is afraid of heights but agreed to go on with me( I didn't realize this until he was on) ! hahah! We rode down the beach on the camel together, COOLEST THING EVER :) and we came back just talkin!   We decided we would go get a drink and went to sit by the restaurant thing and hung out there for awhile. As Ben, Sophie and the guy, and dad waited and hungout mom and I thought we would take advantage of it and went to the change rooms and showered.. We were so desperate to be clean we found a basically empty shampoo bottle and tried to get anything we could out of it. (You can tell we miss showering ;) ) ! We then finished up and went back and decided we would actually be going to a hotel tonight. Since this WAS our "vacation" away from the village for a bit and mom was stressed and in pain we wanted to be able to have a nice sleep and shower. We got in a car and checked out the nearest hotels. We actually got a discount because we're missionaries and had to use up dad's Christmas money, but it was so worth it.  Mom and I stayed and waited for our room while dad headed back with the other to get our stuff from their house. After a long, chaotic day we tried to relax.. but were so excited we decided we would go look around instead.  We were thrown into complete shock... everything was COMPLETELY different from outside. The view was breath taking, the free coffee and tea, the pool, the palm trees, the water, beach, restaurants built in the rocks.. WOW.. We were so excited, but at the same time felt bad.. More than half of the africans would have imagined this as a dream. I had never been in a place so nice, it was like paradise. We wanted a break from everything and the stresses... and this was all we could+ more .. ever ask for.
Dad soon arrived with our things and we finally got our room, it was a nice room with a back deck and safe.. and a WORKING toilet and shower <3 We could have never been more grateful!  I layed on  the bed...ahhhh just like a piece of heaven or something! (My bed is like sleeping on the floor or like rocks , but man am I ever thankful I have one)   We unpacked a bit and by then it was later (7 30 ish) time for supper! We were on half board, so  we get it free, and it's a buffet!  As I ate the food, I felt like .... wow! I haven't eaten like that... like ever! After supper we went back to the room for a bit then at 9 came out to see the show they were putting on! The "Pole climbers" were performing. And NO, not pole dancers... (Can be misinterpreted) But guys who do tricks and stuff.. SO COOL! The dj guy  I had met earlier called out my name... uh oh.. they needed volunteers and they made me go climb the pole... hahaahahahahahahahahah oh man. I was even wearing a skirt to make things better! But the funny part is I did a better job than the guy before me who was like.. 30 .(Wrestlers strength I guess)   After the show we went back to the room and hungout, and RELAXED ! Woah, haven't done that in awhile! We stayed up for a bit and after a long day, fell asleep quickly in the soft beds.
