Day 93:
I woke up extremely early this morning. . YAY (Not..) ;)
Today is the day we have to go travel to Mombasa to get our Visas renewed. We had to get up early, and wait for a guy to come pick us up. By the time he actually arrived we had been waiting outside for him for some time. We had even gotten to greet the kids as the little ones walk to school. David (the driver) had finally came and we got in the car. We drove for well... (2-3 hours ) to Mombasa. Once we arrived after all the crazy driving, crazy so called "roads" and .. well crazy drivers.. we had come in on the time of traffic going nuts! oh yay! BUT.. to make things even better, he had drove on the wrong side of the road or something? And the police stopped the vehicle because they had seen that there was white people in it. (Usually they wouldn't even bother stopping him) and the police officer was trying to get a bribe. (OF COURSE) David asked for some money from my dad.. and (my dad not really.. but also kinda of knowing what it was for ) gave it to him . They went behind some building and david gave him the money. The officer let us go. We were heading for the government building, and soon enough (with great trust in a map on a phone) we found it! We went and got parked, then walked inside. Took and elevator up to the very top floor, spent only about 5 minutes getting our visas stamped so that we can stay 3 more months, and then headed out just like that! Thank the lord ;) hahahaha! After that we walked downstairs (OUCH.. I had stepped on a huge thorn and had it stuck in my foot the day before, and my ankle is messed up as well.. so walking STUNK lolol!) We found David and got in the car, and then decided we would go to the Nakumatt since we had time. We drove (well you know David drove ) there and went in .... It is so nice sometimes to see things from home! We got a few things, stayed in there for a bit.. and then back out. After we left there we decided since it was around lunch time that we would go and eat. We found a restaurant where.. THEY ACTUALLY HAVE PIZZA :D We sat in there and ate, and .. ALSO HAD ICECREAM<3 Life is good when you find those little things that you miss and never have ;) Once we finished up lunch we had to get on the road once again. . The drive back is not so exciting, it's more of me just sleeping and dreaming crazy stuff. .. sooo (2-3 hours later* *) we got back and unpacked the car full of supplies .. and turns out David took advantage of us and we had to pay more. This is after he makes us pay his bribe, we give him money for lunch, and buy him a drink.. and he TAKES ADVANTAGE OF US? Wow . It seems you really have to be careful with who you think you can trust here that is for sure. They seem to think we are money on legs and that really just gets to you. We love the people, but some you do not trust at all. After we were done unloading, we decided we would just take the night to ourselves, and rest up.
Day 92 :
Monday! !Wow time goes fast?! Before I know it half of my day is gone ;)
I woke up to.. well you know, the usual.. SCHOOLING :D I have been working on my world issues project daily. (And reading shakespeare books.. weo!) I am just hoping with everything I have that will not have to re-do my year and not graduate on time due to being in Africa. ... it would be really really.. SUCKY : /. So most of my day consumed of school work/house work/and the usual children time :) . Either that or making food/drinks for the garden workers!
Day 91:
Today is now Sunday! Which means Morning service of church. We woke up early and got ready.. then well, the usual crazy service :) We were greeted by people, who seemed excited to have us back.. even though we were only gone about a week ;) (HOW WILL I EVER LEAVE THIS PLACE D: <3)
After church we went back to the house to have lunch, then back over to the orphanage to work/and play with the kids :) (Practically the rest of the day was that)
